Potty mouth...
Potty mouth... A common phrase to describe a foul mouthed youngster. These days it’s a wonder how kids cope with naughty language. Their cartoons seem to beg them to repeat the bad words. My son’s favorite show "Thomas The Tank Engine" has a few "Shut Up's" in a couple episodes. My son likes to point them out to me, "Mommy, “He said -Shut up."
Cartoon Network has become my enemy. They have a way of teaching my son everything I don’t want him to learn. I won't let my kids watch Cartoon Network anymore. It seems every program is full of vulgar, disgusting, rude, hyper-active, selfish, brat-like children. It’s pure brain-washing video for children.
The whole network seems to run by 7-year old boys. I can dissect the script of every cartoon on Cartoon Network by writing a list of words and images my own mother would scoff at me for watching. That list would be the blueprint of every cartoon on that network of junk.
I never knew it would get to be this bad. When I was a kid, my parents would watch a few cartoons and say "That stuff will rot your brain." I never knew they could be so right. It is truly rotting my kid’s brains. They watch the burps, puking, farts, dogs peeing, rude comments on the cartoons and soon they are repeating the same to their friends. It has become so common, most parents and teachers don't catch the words and actions to stop the behavior. We've all become desensitized to hearing a 5-year old say "Shut up" and all the back-talk they are taught on the cartoons.
Since I no longer allow Cartoon Network, my kids moved to Nickelodeon. Nickelodeon is just as bad. There is no value to watching any program on Nickelodeon. Sure it’s tailored to older kids, but I don’t see why anyone would want their kids watching that trash no mater what their ages are. Even if my son was 18, I don’t see any value in him watching Nickelodeon.
There is hope… For older kids, Kim Possible is “way cool”, I love how they talk on that show. For younger kids, Blue's Clues has a wonderful story line carried by very entertaining musical scores. Extremely educational material. The Leap Frog series of DVD’s and electronic toys is awesome. Leap Frog seems to program your kids to learn. What could be better than that? Bob The Builder has a great work ethic and attitude on life. Your kids can only learn good things from Bob The Builder, Wendy, Skip, Muck and Dizzy too….
Barney is addictive in the best way. He teaches to love and care for everyone. Jay Jay the Jet Plane will show you there is a great adventure to life. All of these videos are "Airin-approved" for your children or to give as a gift. The children will love watching and learning with them....
